An unpublished manuscript is the most confidential thing an academic owns. This page says plainly what happens to yours.
What we keep, and for how long
Your uploaded file, the edited file and the change log are stored under random identifiers and kept in your account, so you can download them again later. Write to us at any time and we will delete them.
We do not train on your documents
Your manuscript is used to produce your edited file and nothing else. It is never used to train a model, never shown to another customer, and never published.
Who processes your file
Editing is AI-assisted: the prose is rewritten by a third-party language-model provider under contract, and everything else - the reading of the file, the classification, the measurement, the assembly of the returned document - runs on our own servers. Payments are processed by Wayl. Files are stored with Cloudflare R2.
Hidden text and the alert log
Documents are scanned for hidden text and unusual characters before processing. Where we find them we tell you on the quote screen and exclude them from the pass. The scan's finding is logged against the account so we can see patterns of abuse; the document text itself is not.
Your account
We store your email address, your credit balance and your saved keywords. Write to us and we will delete your account and everything attached to it.
